applying

omny is a direct successor to courty and therefore a mostly open gpsl. however, we're trying to keep out banned writers so everyone can safely have fun, so when you're applying, consider the following:
1. if you're rejoining with a former character, just apply as usual! if you're worried the mods won't recognize your username, you can always mention when you joined courty or link your old intro in the dropbox to verify.

2. if you want to join with a new character and you're comfortable disclosing your other ones at courty (current or past), we'd appreciate it. not required, though!

3. if you're 100% new, you're still welcome! however, we suggest having a current member vouch for you or reaching out to the main mod on discord (@wildfuries) to give a head's up. again, not required, just helpful to the mods.

4. the following writers and all characters by them are banned: churros, pucker, puffin. if you are one of these writers, do not join under any circumstances. if you have proof one of them has joined, please provide it to us so we can remove them.
we reserve the right to reject applications from writers we feel won't be a good fit, and we don't respond to comments regarding rejections. a related note: we don't personally care about aesthetics, but it's an unavoidable factor when we do adds. we provide plenty of resources in the application post to make the aesthetics part of setting up extremely easy. if you disregard those resources, you risk rejection.
communication

the usual rp etiquette applies: no ic/ooc blurring, no hate speech, use trigger warnings when appropriate, put nsfw content behind a cut, and treat fellow writers with respect.

everyone has different levels of comfort with ooc communication, but we prioritize it here to prevent misunderstandings and foster a sense of community. we also welcome discord/apps for ooc use. of course, you are in no way obligated to befriend anyone ooc to enjoy your time here, and just because some writers are comfortable outing their characters doesn't mean everyone is. however, the best way to stop problem writers from ruining shit for the rest of us is by ditching some of the anonymity ourselves, and that's what we're trying to do at this gpsl.
activity

new members don't have to do an intro, and for the time being, we don't require monthly updates, but we do ask that the gpsl be self-sustained and not require significant mod input. that means that the fp will need to be member-driven even though there are no update requirements; we want you to update when you feel inspired to, but not pressured when you aren't. we also highly welcome and encourage member-submitted ideas for activities! for example, if you have an idea for an ffa but you don't think your character would be the type to host it, you can give it to us and we'll post.

we may post "comment to stay added" activity checks at the end of the month if needed. please be sure to keep an eye out for these! if you don't like logging in to check the friends' page all the time, you can always track posts made directly to mingling to receive notifs. we also expect our members to keep their flists up to date, and those who don't regularly run the button risk removal.
transparency

to try and minimize some of the bullshit we've all endured due to anonymity in this hobby: hi, i'm the main mod (i have two co-mods) and you can call me bunny. i've played tidy since courty opened in april 2023, and i modded courty from august 2023 until this reboot. i also started a discord server for ij writers in february 2024, which you can join here. i've been on ij since 2012, on and off, and will gladly share my past characters if you reach out.

on a more personal note, i work from home editing academic manuscripts, care for a relative with alzheimer's, and have a calico cat named roxy. i only mention these things because i want to remind people that i'm a human being, and so are my co-mods (who have a right to stay anonymous). so, please just try to treat everyone with respect when you write in this hobby. ❤️
